As I grew up in mid rural Michigan, I was taught and I believed a number of things. I was taught America was a special place and that American exceptionalism was gospel. Our Founding Fathers were men of faith and honor who took huge risks just by believing the way they did. America was made up of hard working people and that ‘good ol’ Yankee ingenuity’ could conquer anything, anywhere, at any time. Apollo 13 was a prime example. People helped each other because it was the right thing to do. Where did it all go wrong?

Many people now believe that America is to blame for nearly everything that is wrong in the world. American capitalism is evil and our Founding Fathers were hedonistic men who owned slaves and got rich at the expense of others. People only help others because they stand to profit from their acts… and I say BUNK!

If the elections of November 2008 have done nothing else, they have awakened the soul of the America and Americans I knew as a young boy. You may believe as you wish but I know… I mean I KNOW… there are more people out there that believe as I do versus the way the ruling elitist believe.

They think they’ve won. They choose not to listen to the voice of “We The People” but I know they hear us. Watch how much they try to ramrod through Congress this summer. They know their days are numbered. They want you to think that when they win, you win… but we know better.

Watching these politicians is much like watching a magician. If they are waving the right hand around and making a big deal of showing you the right hand, it is the left hand that is picking your pocket and limiting your freedoms. When they trot out a new crisis, watch the Friday afternoon ‘news dumps.’

America, I know you are out there. I’ve talked to many of you and I know you are worried about our future just as am I. I’ve said it before, you need to speak up and you need to speak out. Silence leads to socialism. We must be heard!

While I want to bring up another part of WW 2 history a day or two down the road, remember, in 1935 they thought Winston Churchill was a nut job as he warned about the rising power of Germany. Abraham Lincoln was despised by millions in 1860. The signers of the Declaration of Independence were targeted for death merely for signing it. You could do a lot worse than be in the company of such fine men. Take your stand now… while you are still able to stand.
